NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS

 The Town of Fort Frances will be commencing the Water Main Flushing and Valve Turning Program.   During the flushing process the water clarity may change.  Please refrain from washing clothes/dishes, bathing and consuming water during this period of time.  If your water should become discoloured, run water through your cold water taps until clear.  If there is no apparent clearing of the water after ½ hour please call the Public Works Office at 274-9893.    The Town of Fort Frances apologizes for this inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.

CN has advised that under normal circumstances the maximum time that vehicle traffic can be delayed is 5 minutes. 

If the public would like to report wait times longer than 5 minutes the should do so by calling Public Works at
274-9893 
 and provide the following information:  date, time, engine number, direction travelling etc. 

Once the Operations and Facilities Division receives 5 complaints CNR will be contacted. 

 

Reconstruction of the Portage Avenue Underpass

Bay City Contracting will be starting work in the intersection of 2nd Street/Portage Avenue starting on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:00 am for approximately a 10 day period.

As a result 2nd Street will be closed to through traffic from Victoria Avenue to Mowat Avenue and Portage Avenue will be closed to through from 3rd Street to 1st Street. Traffic control signage will be installed to re-routed traffic onto 1st or 3rd Street.
